Intimacy Coordinator Training Program
Nordic Intimacy Coordinators (NIC) provides education and training to create safe and believable intimacy in film, TV, and live performances, primarily in the Nordic region. Our organisation is the first and currently the only European (mainland) company offering SAG-AFTRA accredited Intimacy Coordinator training in the field.
Our Intimacy Coordinator Certification Program is delivered both through online and in-person instruction, catering to people in different life situations more flexibly. We encourage applications from individuals from varied backgrounds with prior training and set experience in the film/TV or live performance industries. The IC training is structured to meet the evolving needs and demands of the industry. Due to the focus on meeting the industry needs, we do not have a regular intake but operate based on a demand and industry feedback. NIC IC training program is tailored specifically to meet the current industry demand.
APPLICATION WINDOW IS NOW CLOSED! For future certification course updates you can subscribe to our email list or follow us on social media. If you are interested in learning more about intimacy coordination, please be in touch! We will be holding online introductory sessions before the next round of applications opens.
The first Nordic IC training launched in September 2023 and included trainees from the Nordic and Baltic regions. This training was organised in collaboration with The Intimacy Professionals’ Association IPA, and it successfully concluded in spring 2024, marking an exciting milestone in NIC history.
I am incredibly satisfied with my education at NIC. Each session was carefully structured so that I could truly understand the importance of every topic and they also wrapped up the entire curriculum very well in a five-day in-person workshop at the end, where we had the chance to put theory into practice in a safe and supportive environment. This workshop really cemented the key lessons from the program and gave us invaluable hands-on experience, making the entire experience extremely rewarding. Pia and Malin are true pioneers in this field, and learning from their experience and knowledge was incredibly insightful.
The Nordic Intimacy Coordinators' Training Programme has had a deep and meaningful impact on me, both professionally and personally. It taught me to be more in tune with myself and others, considering the specific circumstances and their effects on each of us, as well as to adopt a highly detailed approach to delicate, challenging, and complex questions and scenarios. Throughout the educational process, and within our community after graduation, I have observed a strong commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism—something I also aim to uphold and continue in my work. This dedication not only improves work quality and conditions but also contributes to achieving high artistic standards.
I’ve been fortunate enough to work actively in the field since completing the training. The course gave me so much more than a certification. It provided me with a solid foundation, practical tools, and the confidence I needed to step into this important and nuanced role. I’m incredibly grateful that it was Malin and Pia I got to learn from. They guided me safely through the training—and continue to support me in my ongoing work.
